DLF Limited, formerly known as Delhi Land & Finance, is one of India’s most established real estate developers, with a legacy of more than 78 years. Founded on July 4, 1946, by Chaudhary Raghvendra Singh, the company initially focused on building residential colonies in Delhi to house families displaced after Partition. Its first project, Krishna Nagar, was completed in 1949, followed by the development of 22 colonies across the capital, including Model Town and Greater Kailash.


After regulatory changes in 1957 restricted private real estate development in Delhi, DLF strategically shifted its expansion to Gurgaon (now Gurugram). DLF became publicly listed in 2007 through one of India’s largest IPOs, raising about ₹9,000 crore. Today, it operates across 15 states and 24 cities, with more than 100 million square feet of completed residential and commercial space and over 160 delivered projects, including residential, commercial, and retail developments. As of May 2025, the company’s valuation stood at approximately ₹1.72 lakh crore, reflecting its strong market leadership, quality construction standards, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
